This week I sat down with Andrew Nip, Director of Talent, Asia at LVMH Fashion Group. Andrew began his career in Hays Group, one of the largest recruitment companies in the world. Started in Australia, he helped the company 0-1 open up many APAC locations and also grew from a recruiter to HR Head of Greater China in 13 years. And last year he made a switch to take on a new exciting role with LVMH. In this interview, I asked Andrew about his take on China-centric HR strategies; how the luxury industry is reacting to the market downcycle; and his inspirational personal story from Hong Kong to Australia then over a decade in Shanghai.
"One of the secret ingredients to successful Chinese entrepreneurship is their relentless drive and single-pointed focus on results. As the HR partner, I think we can do a better job at helping business leaders to balance and see if there are better things that can be done in driving sustainable transformation."
